How long should a candle wick be?
The length for pouring is the container depth plus an allowance at the rim. Trimming a ~5 mm tip at each burn is a separate job; do not confuse the two. Size follows the diameter, length follows the depth. Soya Wax 50 container.

Measure the depth
Base to rim in cm. The wick should exceed this and leave enough allowance to sit on the holder. There is no memorized cm.

Do not confuse it with the burning tip
After the pour and at each burn, a ~5 mm tip. 5 mm does not mean cutting the whole stick.

Pour
Stick the base, hold it upright with a holder. Soya Wax 50 ~51–55°C, fragrance 6–10%. Once cool, cut the excess thread, tip ~5 mm.
Size
Thickness (size or mm) follows the diameter. This page is about length. The size guide is separate.
Wooden length
The height of a wooden SKU must reach the container depth. A short stick gets buried and goes out.
FAQs
Is it always 10 cm?
No. Container height varies. Measure the depth for each SKU.
Tealight length?
A ready-made tealight wick comes short. Do not leave a long thread in a tealight; it overflows.
