Wick
How to use a wick holder?
A wick holder keeps the wick upright and centered during the pour. Stick the base, seat the holder on the rim, pour Soya Wax 50 at ~51–55°C, and trim to ~5 mm once it cools. The what-is guide is separate.
-
Stick the base
Stick the wick base to the geometric center of the container. For double wicks, two points at equal spacing.
-
Seat the holder
Pass the top end through the holder's hole. The holder should press on the rim; the wick stays upright. Slipping is a tunnel.
-
Pour and trim
Soya Wax 50 double boiler ~51–55°C, fragrance 6–10%. Remove the holder after cooling, tip ~5 mm.
Wooden wick
Wood also wants a holder or clip. The soaking and crackle guides are separate.
Without a holder
In experienced pouring a stick also holds it. For a first try, a metal holder prevents slipping.
FAQs
Does the holder stay in the wax?
No. It comes out after cooling. Do not pull early; the surface sinks.
A holder for tealights?
In a small cup a ready tealight wick is enough. A holder is for wide glass.
