Why is my candle smoking?
Smoking is the flame not burning completely: a long wick, a draft or hard blowing. Soot is black carbon; smoke can be gray-white. Trim the wick dry to ~5 mm. Soya Wax 50 fragrance ceiling ~8%.

Trim the wick
~5 mm of dry upright tip. A long thread and a mushroomed carbon cause smoke. The mushrooming guide is separate.

Cut off drafts
Windows and air conditioning bend the flame. A calm room. A heavy size makes soot; smoke is often a long tip.

Fix how you put it out
Do not blow. Trimmer or lid. Exceeding oil saturation (Soya Wax 50 ~8%) also leaves smoke.
Difference from soot
Soot is a black wall and glass stain, often a thick wick. Smoke is visible smoke. The soot guide is separate.
Wooden wick
Crackle is not smoke. Oily wet wood smokes and goes out. The crackle guide is separate.

Does a new pour smoke?
The cure may be short. Wait 24 hours; scent 48 hours–1 week. Wick ~5 mm.
Does fragrance cause smoking?
Exceeding oil saturation clogs the wick. Soya Wax 50 6–10%, ceiling ~8%.
