Burning
How to put out a candle?
Blowing hard leads to soot and smoking. Trim the wick with a wick trimmer or snuffer; with a lidded glass, close the lid. Once out, leave a dry tip of ~5 mm. Soya Wax 50 container; a new pour should wait 24 hours.
-
Do not blow
Hard blowing bends the wick and leaves soot and smoke. The smoking guide is separate.
-
Cut or cover
Cut the wick with a wick trimmer just above the pool. With a lidded glass, close the lid; the flame goes out without oxygen.
-
Leave the tip
When cool, an upright ~5 mm dry tip. A buried wet tip goes out on the next burn. A new pour should wait 24 hours.
Difference from going out
This is deliberate extinguishing. A candle that goes out by itself has a thin/wet wick or a tunnel; that guide is separate.
Wooden wick
Cut gently without breaking the wood. The soaking and crackle guides are separate.
