Troubleshooting
Why is my candle flame weak?
A weak flame is most often a short or thin wick, too much dye or fragrance beyond oil saturation. Leave the wick ~5 mm and dry. Soya Wax 50 ceiling ~8%; dye ~1%.
-
Free the wick
Trim a buried or wet tip. ~5 mm of dry, upright tip. A tip that is too short smothers the flame.
-
Recall the load
Dye ~1%, Soya Wax 50 fragrance 6–10%. Too much pigment and oil clogs the wick. Lower the ratio in the next pour.
-
Size and pool
A thin wick stays in a tunnel. Go one size up or use a double wick. On the first burn the pool should reach the edge.
Difference from going out
A weak flame burns but does not heat. A candle that goes out has its own guide. Soot is a too-heavy wick; a weak flame is usually a thin one.
Black candle
Heavy dye classically clogs. Less dye, a heavier wick, a burn test.
FAQs
Do wooden wicks stay weak too?
Yes. A thin mm or wet wood. The soaking and mm guide is separate.
Does a cold room matter?
With Soya Wax 50 the pool slows down. Try a calm, warm room.
