Paraffin
How many candles from 1 kg of paraffin?
Paraffin density varies by SKU. At a net fill of 200 ml, 1 kg gives roughly 4–6 candles. The volume of sheets or granules is misleading; weigh in grams. Container candles in Soya Wax 50 are calculated separately.
-
Find the net volume
Fill the mold with water and weigh it to learn the ml. Allow for the wick and headroom.
-
Divide the grams
1 kg / net fill grams ≈ count. At a 200 ml fill, most paraffins give a band of 4–6; SKU density shifts it.
-
Allow for waste
Edges, a second pour and a test candle. If stearin is added, the weight changes. Do not mix this up with soy calculations.
Do not mix with soy
Soya Wax 50 is said to give ~5–6 candles at 200 ml; paraffin has a different density. Do not copy the same formula.
Mold vs container
The net volume of a silicone mold is smaller. A candlestick loses some to its base. The scale decides.
