Paraffin
How to make paraffin candles?
Paraffin is firm for molds and pillars. It holds detail in silicone. Soya Wax 50 is a container soy (~51–55°C); with paraffin, follow the SKU working temperature, no direct flame.
-
Prepare the mold and wick
The mold should be dry. Center the wick. For a pillar, leave a foot allowance.
-
Melt the paraffin
Double boiler, no direct flame. Follow the working temperature in the SKU note. If adding stearin, melt it homogeneously with the wax.
-
Pour and remove
Add the fragrance after the heat, without exceeding the oil saturation. Peel the silicone once fully cooled. Trim the wick ~5 mm.
Difference from soy
Paraffin stays firm and mold detail is sharp. Soya Wax 50 is a soft container soy and can frost. Blending is in a separate guide.
Temperature note
The paraffin working band depends on the SKU. Do not copy the soy 51–55°C to paraffin. Do not boil.
