Wick
Wooden wick or cotton wick?
Cotton thread is quiet and its size is clear by diameter. Wood wants a wider flame and gives crackle; soaking and a clip are a must. Container Soya Wax 50 carries both; a burn test decides.
-
Pour two tests of the same diameter
Same wax, same fragrance load. One with a cotton size, one with a wood mm. Center them with a holder.
-
Cure and first burn
Wait 24 hours. Trim the wick to ~5 mm (the manufacturer's mm for wood). The pool should reach the edge.

Compare
Soot, tunneling, scent, sound. Wet or thick wood gives soot; thin cotton gives a tunnel. Pick the right SKU from the catalog.
When cotton
Tealights, narrow containers, a quiet home. The size table is clear.
When wood
Wide containers, designs that want crackle. The soaking guide is separate. Double wood is for very wide containers.
FAQs
Does wood work in soy?
Yes, in Soya Wax 50 containers. A burn test is a must; not every mm suits every diameter.
Which gives less soot?
Cotton in the right size is usually more predictable. Wood depends on soaking and trimming.
