What is palm wax?
Palm wax is a hard vegetable base made from palm oil; it stays firm in pillar and mold detail. Rufus Soya Wax 50 is a soft container soy (melting ~51–55°C). Do not copy the same recipe; read the SKU note.
What it is for
Workshops wanting firm vegetable mold work look for palm or a palm blend. The surface crystal (similar to frosting) and mold lines differ from soy. In scented container candles, Soya Wax 50 is softer and scent-friendly.
Difference from Soya Wax 50
Soya Wax 50 is flakes, container/aromatherapy, oil saturation ~8%. Palm generally promises higher melting and mold hold; do not copy competitor tables, go by the label on the bag you have. A blend drops the 100% soy claim.
What to choose
Glass jar: Soya Wax 50. Detailed silicone/pillar: paraffin or a mold-suitable vegetable base (a palm/blend SKU in stock). With any base, the wick is a burn test.
FAQs
Can palm wax replace soy?
The same temperature and wick do not carry over. Try Soya Wax 50 for containers and palm or paraffin for molds separately.
Does Rufus carry palm?
Stock SKUs follow the catalog. If not, the paraffin + stearin mold route and the Soya Wax 50 container route remain.
