Mold
How to make bubble candles?
A bubble candle is a silicone sphere mold. For detail, paraffin (with stearin if needed) stays firm; Soya Wax 50 is container-focused. Weigh the grams, cool fully, flex the mold.
-
Weigh the mold
Weigh the mold with water and note the net grams. For a medium bubble of 130–150 g, 1 kg of base makes roughly 6–7; the count rises with a mini mold. Allow 3–5% for loss.
-
Melt to suit the base
Melt paraffin in a double boiler in the band in the product note. Soya Wax 50 is 51–55°C but soft soy can be squashed in a thin bubble; prefer paraffin for mold work.
-
Pour slowly and wait
Center the wick. Reduce bubbles. Do not force the mold before 6–12 hours; take it out by flexing the mold.
Color and scent
Granule dye ~1%. Fragrance is oil-based, without exceeding the oil saturation. A dark dye shows surface flaws. Do not use food coloring.
1 kg calculation
The count depends on the mold's grams. At a 140 g net fill, 1 kg ≈ about 7 candles (excluding loss). With a mini mold, 10+ can come out. Do not memorize the volume of a bubble/silicone mold in the catalog without a scale.
FAQs
How many bubbles from 1 kg of soy wax?
By the mold's grams. Roughly 6–7 at ~140 g. Soya Wax 50 may stay soft; try paraffin in a detailed bubble.
Does a bubble need a wick?
If it will be burned, yes, in the center. A decorative candle can be poured without a wick; write a do-not-burn claim on the label.
