- Candle dyes are oil-based products used to color your candles.
- They have a thick, concentrated consistency and begin to soften and then melt when exposed to heat.
- This product is open green in color and weighs 10 grams.
- When making the candle you want to color, it is recommended to add a small amount (1%) of granular candle dye to the melting container along with your base material (soy wax, paraffin, etc.). Mix the two thoroughly to achieve a homogeneous blend. After your base material has completely melted, drip a drop onto white paper and wait for it to dry. If the dried colored wax on the paper matches your desired tone, your color is ready. If it appears lighter than expected, add a small piece (2%, 3%, 4%, etc.) more by breaking it into the liquid wax and mix well. Repeat this process until you achieve the desired shade.
- The visible color of the melted base material will differ from the color after drying.
- The candle dyes you use can mix with each other, allowing you to create intermediate shades from different primary colors.
- Granular candle dyes are produced to minimize pigment issues after drying compared to powder dyes and are much easier to work with.
