- Candle dyes are oil-based products used to color your candles.
- They have a thick, concentrated consistency and begin to soften and then melt when exposed to heat.
- This product is dark yellow in color and weighs 100 grams. It is shipped as a single 100g doypack package.
- When making the candle you want to color, it is recommended to add a small amount (1%) of granular candle dye to the melting pot along with your base material (soy wax, paraffin, etc.). Mix the two products thoroughly to achieve a homogeneous blend. After your base material has completely melted, drop a small amount onto white paper and wait for it to dry. If the dried colored wax on the paper matches your desired tone, your color is ready. If the tone is lighter than expected, add a small additional piece (2%, 3%, 4%, etc.) by breaking it into the liquid wax and mix well. Repeat this process until you achieve the desired shade.
- The visible color of the melted base material will differ from the color after the candle dries.
- The candle dyes you use can be mixed with each other, allowing you to create intermediate colors from different primary colors.
- Granular candle dyes are produced to minimize pigment issues after drying, unlike powder dyes. They are much easier to work with compared to powder dyes.
