Bubble Candles: Modern Décor In Cube Form

Bubble candles add a modern cubed texture to shelves and gift boxes. Learn materials, pouring, scent-color balance and yield from 1 kg of wax.

3 Min Read All Posts

Bubble candles are the atelier version of the viral cubed, pebbled block. They read strongly as décor; if they must burn, plan wick and hardness separately. At Rufus Concept we build bubble runs around mold choice, wax flow and calm cooling.

What Is A Bubble Candle?

A bubble candle is a cube or brick whose faces show regular rounded bumps. Pastel versions dominate gift and window displays. Display-only pieces skip aggressive burning; burnable ones need a flat base and a centered wick.

Color, Scent And Styling

Soft pink, mint, cream and grey photograph cleanly. Solid single colors look more retail-ready than busy mixes. Keep fragrance moderate so soft wax does not collapse the bumps. Style one piece on a coffee table or a trio on a bookshelf.

Home Pour Steps

  1. Melt wax to a fluid but not scorching pour.
  2. Blend dye and fragrance.
  3. Center the wick if the piece will burn.
  4. Pour slowly; tap to fill bump cavities.
  5. Demold fully cool and trim flash.

Beeswax blends can stick more in deep textures. Skip gel wax for bubble cubes. Tools live under candle-making supplies. Small cubes usually prefer cotton; wood wicks suit only wider faces.

Use And Care

  • Keep out of direct sun to protect pastels and shape.
  • Trim short when burning so melt does not flood the bumps.
  • Display décor pieces away from open flame.
  • Store beyond children’s reach.

How Many Bubbles From 1 Kg Of Paraffin?

Yield follows mold fill weight. Typical small bubble molds take 80–120 g. Reserve 5–10% for topping and tests.

Approx. fillPieces per 1 kg
80 g11–12
100 g9–10
120 g7–8

Weigh a water fill to estimate volume, then adjust for wax density. Gram templates per mold cut waste in production.

Bubble candles are fast décor when the mold and pour window are right. Prove one mold with Rufus Concept materials, lock color and wick, then batch.

Air Pockets And Lost Detail

Trapped air in bump cavities leaves half-missing spheres. Tilt while filling, then tap the mold a few times on the bench. Over-vibration can streak color—stay measured.

The second cause of soft detail is a soft formula. If a fingerprint remains at room temperature, the piece will crush on a shelf. Raise hardness with stearic acid or more paraffin while keeping pastels; darker pigment alone does not harden wax and can raise soot.

Gift Packing

  • Nest each cube in its own paper cradle.
  • Do not press two bubbled faces together.
  • On hot shipping days prefer shaded short transit over melting cold packs that sweat.

State burnable versus décor-only clearly. Customers who expect long burns on soft cubes file shape complaints. A short care note plus the right wick cuts returns.

Update the 1 kg yield table with your mold’s true grams. Average three consecutive pours with Rufus Concept materials—that number prices and plans stock honestly.

Display bubble cubes with cool LED rather than hot spots; heat softens pastel faces. Wood or stone risers photograph better and safer than thin glass shelves that tip.

A simple weekly rhythm helps small makers: Monday color proofs, Tuesday–Wednesday main pours, Thursday pack, Friday ship. That cadence protects bump detail by not rushing cool-down.
